Basic Life Support (BLS)

HSI Basic Life Support (BLS) program is for participants to gain or improve knowledge and skill proficiency in high-quality CPR skills and teamwork for the adult, child, and infant.

 The intended audience is individuals who are healthcare providers (in and out of hospital), public safety professionals in a variety of occupational settings, or individuals enrolled in healthcare and public safety career training programs who require BLS training. 

Course Length  2 .5 - 5 hours varies

  

Adult First Aid | CPR AED

HSI Adult First Aid | CPR AED training program is for participants to gain or improve knowledge and skill proficiency in adult first aid and/or CPR AED for adult, child, and infant. 

Class Certification Types 

HSI First Aid | CPR AED allows you the flexibility to teach and provide certification in any of the following nine options listed below:

  

  1. Adult First Aid | Adult CPR AED
  2. Adult First Aid | Adult/Child CPR AED
  3. Adult First Aid | Adult/Infant CPR AED
  4. Adult First Aid | Adult/Child/Infant CPR AED
  5. Adult First Aid
  6. Adult CPR AED
  7. Adult/Child CPR AED
  8. Adult/Infant CPR AED
  9. Adult/Child/Infant CPR AED

Course Length 1.5- 6 hours varies

Bloodborne Pathogens

HSI's Bloodborne Pathogens training program includes information that will help students understand what bloodborne pathogens are and how risks of exposure can be reduced for themselves and others. 

Intended Audience


 HSI’s Bloodborne Pathogens course is ideal for any individual or employee who has a reasonable anticipation of contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials as a result of performing designated job duties. 

Course Length 1 hour

Emergency Use of Medical Oxygen

 Serious and life-threatening medical emergencies often cause oxygen to be depleted in the body. The HSI Emergency Use of Medical Oxygen program focuses on how to administer emergency medical oxygen to breathing and non-breathing persons using oxygen delivery systems. 

 

The HSI Emergency Use of Medical Oxygen program teaches participants how to:

  • Assess for oxygen deficiency in an emergency situation
  • Observe the signs and symptoms of mild, moderate, and severe hypoxia
  • Correctly use a pulse oximeter
  • Set up an emergency medical oxygen delivery system and monitor SpO2
  • Help responsive and unresponsive persons
  • Provide medical oxygen in an emergency to an adult/child and infant using an appropriate bag-mask device (BLS providers only)

 

Student Certification Requirements: CPR/First Aid or BLS Provider before class2 hours

Course Length: 2 hours

HSI Emergency Use of Medical Oxygen has been approved by the HSI Medical Advisory Board and reviewed by the HSI Advisory Council. I
